Orphan Train By Christina Baker Kline

The Orphan Train is a novel based on historical events.  In 1929 poor children living on the lower east side of New York City were put on trains to the Midwest. When the trains stopped the children were adopted, often by childless couples.  I liked this story because I learned something in American history that I was unaware of.
